Creative writing for HSC + Yr 11
Creative writing can be tricky for most, especially when writing for a particular theme and trying to find the right balance of dialogue and prose. The creative writing component is assessed at all level of English study for Year 11 and Year 12 HSC.
This workshop has been designed to help Year 11 and Year 12 HSC students understand what makes a great short story for the creative writing component of English.
- How to develop an idea that is sure to impress the markers.
- How to write great dialogue and have a balance between dialogue and description.
- How to write to a theme such as Discovery (2015 HSC Area of Study), Belonging, Journeys and Conflict.
- Making sure your prepared creative is easy to adapt to any given exam stimulus.
- Understanding of assessable creative forms such as diary entries, scripts and letters.
